So, you have gotten yourself a date. But, oh wait! Is this your first? Don’t know what to do? Well, here are some tips to acing your first date.

Whether it is to the theater, the park, or a fancy restaurant, keep your appearance tidy. Even if you like the rugged look, you should make an effort to dress up and set your hair. Your appearance tells a date how much preparation you are willing to make to meet them, which will indicate how special you take them to be.

You would not want to appear a boring date, so you should prepare some questions or topics to talk about. It is always good to be curious about your date, so do think of some questions that will allow you to get to know your date better. Of course, you should also be introducing yourself. Balance the questioning and introducing out otherwise you may appear to be a person who is extremely private, or someone who is vain.

However, even with good topics, you will need to have good communication skills. People love charismatic people, which mean they should be able to hold people’s attention as they talk, is confident, and are able to give the right responses. Brush up your communication skills by recording yourself so you will know what areas you will need to work on.

Although it might be unlikely, you should always have a back-up plan in case certain appointments do not go right. For example, if the restaurant you are supposed to meet at is closed, you should have another place to go to. Otherwise, you would end up standing around figuring what you can do as the clock ticks.

First impressions always count on first dates. It helps the date consider if they may go on a second date with you, based on the first experience. So, make sure you follow the tips and get on the right path.
