When it comes to education, there is no doubt that money is one of the most important factors that can determine whether your child can study or get a job instead. As much as parents want to give the best to their children, there are some who just can’t afford to pay for the high fees particularly during college. Thus, they resort to student loans in order to provide financial support for their child’s education.

Some of the most common education loans in United States are the Federal Parent Plus and the Federal Stafford. The latter can be granted to the students who are under graduate and to the graduates as well. On the other hand, the Federal Parent Plus can be given to the parents if their child is one of the undergraduate students. Compared to the other loans that they can avail, these federal student loans do not have high interest rate. The interest rate can never exceed 9 percent.

There are also differences regarding how the government and the borrowers handle the interest rates of the two federal loans for students. Although both can never have an interest rate more than 9 percent, it would be the federal government who will shoulder the interest when it comes to Federal Stafford loan. On the other hand, it is the responsibility of the borrower to pay for the interest if they availed the Parent Plus loan instead.

More often than not, these education loans from the government require their applicants to be a legal citizen of United States. But nowadays, Parent Plus loans are now accepting applicants that are immigrants in the country.

Student loans are the best option for those who want to pursue their studies and dreams but do not have enough money to pay for their education.
