Although both can never have an interest rate more than 9 percent, it would be the federal government who will shoulder the interest when it comes to Federal Stafford loan. On the other hand, it is the responsibility of the borrower to pay for the interest if they availed the Parent Plus loan instead.

More often than not, these education loans from the government require their applicants to be a legal citizen of United States. But nowadays, Parent Plus loans are now accepting applicants that are immigrants in the country.
